This wall quilt began with one piece of cotton fabric with a circle motif, and
since I am really attracted to this shape, the fabric piece found its' way into
my stash. I wanted to try the technique popularized by Ricky Tim, so this is my
version of a convergence quilt. It use four fabrics chosen to compliment and
contrast the "prime fabric" which in my case was the circles.
I don't quite know why this quilt says "Asia" to me but it does. It could be
the colour scheme which is quite simple. Gold, burnt red, and black. Some of
the fabrics are enhanced with metallic gold. The surface of this quite is
embellished with circular appliques of varying sizes. The bottom edge has
pennants of graduated size, each adorned with a small brass bell.
The quilt was long arm quilted with a circular pattern to accent the ongoing
theme.
The finished size of the body of this quilt is approximately 60 inches square.
The hanging length requires an additional 10 inches because of the hanging
pockets along the top edge, and the pennants along the bottom edge.
